Meet Miss Lucy

In 2013 I was an International Competition Groom, travelling with my various riders and their showjumpers, but having spent almost a decade working with horses I decided it was time for a change.

I returned home to Suffolk for a little time out with my family and to come up with a plan. I’d always enjoyed having my nails done and needed an infill but couldn’t find anyone near me to help. So by December 2013 I had ordered my first Essential Nails course and by the Spring was qualified in Gel Tip & Overlay and had completed the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme.

Originally I planned to make a little extra money working part time, but by June I had completed my acrylic qualification and had a full time client base, there was no stopping me! I started out mobile, but after a year my back (never great after the years of hard work with the horses) an overflowing client list meant I needed to have a permanent place of work.

I moved out of my family’s country cottage to a small local town and converted a bedroom into a cosy, relaxed home salon, and my client list grew even larger!

In September 2015 I was approached by the very talented Gemma Lambert to join her team of educators. I completed my Level 3 in Education & Training in January 2016 ready for Educators week in April 2016.

The Educators week was an amazing experience, time well spent with some amazingly talented Nail Artists who all have the same passion and a wealth of styles and experience. My time with The Nail Team is something I will always treasure.

I recently decided to go out on my own and as of September 28th 2016 I became an independent educator offering my own training, including group courses, 1-2-1 training days, in-salon training, Hosting in your area and Skype lessons. For more information click here.

My favourite system is Acrylic (L&P) and I specialise in bright and bold salon designs, nearly always with that added spangle embedding glitters and all things that sparkle. I love creating designs that are a little different and totally unique to my ladies, no one ever gets the same as someone else, I always find a way to make my designs one-of-a-kind.

June this year (2016) saw the launch of Miss Lucy’s Glitters, my own line of glitters for use with all types of nail art. What makes them special is that they are mixed by a nail tech for nail techs, I wouldn’t sell anything I haven’t personally used and can recommend/advise how best to use. I’m currently enjoying my sparkly salon life and regular live feeds sharing what I do, I’ve come so far in such a short time in this industry and can’t wait to see where the next year or two will take me

Lucy xoxo
